I am unalterably opposed to the introduction of any casino gambling at the historic Pinehurst Harness Track. Slot machines & roulette wheels should not crowd out our horses or other family events…July 4th, dog shows, polocrosse  etc……

 

We have a 125-year history we are celebrating; an impeccable brand known the world over and casino gambling is not a desired addition.

 

As mayor, I will be an active opponent of any attempt to allow casino gambling at the Pinehurst Harness Track or anywhere else in the Village. I will work with our legislative delegation to ensure that any legislation that undermines the Villages’ ownership of the harness track or authorizes casino gambling in Pinehurst is defeated.

 

Casino gambling would permanently alter the character of our community----not to mention what it would do to traffic congestion on Highway 5, Monticello & Morganton roads.

 

There is no middle ground on this issue. I will stand up for Pinehurst!
